Public safety is a top priority for Merced County. However, recent shifts in State policies have resulted in the early release of more criminal offenders back into our communities. Merced County continues to make significant efforts toward expanding programs that help reintegrate offenders back into society and reduce re-offenses upon release, but limited resources and capacity make these efforts a challenge. Our public safety partners need the tools required to maintain gang prevention and investigation programs, retain and recruit qualified deputies, reduce recidivism, and keep Merced County safe.
Now, we’d like to hear from you—our residents. We want to know about your public safety perspectives and priorities as the County continues to deal with state takeaways and unfunded mandates. Your feedback through this quick survey will help the County determine how to best move forward. We sincerely appreciate your time in this matter.
