Merced Multi-Agency Gang Task Force
The Merced Multi-Agency Gang Task Force was created in September 2007. Working cooperatively, the participating agencies will endeavor to effectively enforce the laws of the State of California, including the Penal Code, Vehicle Code, Health and Safety Code, and applicable federal laws relating to violent crime, street terrorism, and gang-related crimes. MMGTF will focus its efforts towards the suppression, intervention, and prevention of violent crime and gangs. Having a multi-agency task force also increases gang intelligence.
MMGTF is responsible for incorporated cities within Merced County as well as unincorporated areas of Merced County. MMGTF is one of six gang task forces under the supervision of the California Attorney General's Office within the California Department of Justice (DOJ), Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE).
