Deputy Chief Probation Officer Lisa Maples has worked for the Merced County Probation Department for twenty-seven years. She started as an extra-help Juvenile Counselor in the Juvenile Hall in October 1993. Ms. Maples became a full-time Juvenile Counselor in August of 1994, where she worked for nearly three years as a Juvenile Counselor. In August 1996, she was promoted to Deputy Probation Officer (DPO) and worked as a DPO in Adult/Juvenile Supervision and Adult/Juvenile Investigations . In October of 2001, Ms. Maples was promoted to a Supervising Probation Officer (SPO) and was assigned to oversee the Juvenile Intake Unit, Juvenile Supervision Unit and Placement Unit throughout various times during her seven years as an SPO.
In December 2007, Ms. Maples was promoted to Probation Program Manager (PM) and was assigned to the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex (IGJJCC) responsible for oversight of Intake and Detention. In February 2012, Ms. Maples was re-assigned as the PM over the Adult Division until August of 2020 when she was promoted to Deputy Chief Probation Officer over Juvenile Supervision and Superintendent of the Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex.
