Eligibility Requirements
General Assistance is available for individuals that need financial assistance, but do not meet
CalWORKs deprivation needs and do not have a child in the home. General Assistance is a temporary solution and does have work requirements. Recipients are expected to actively search for work while they are receiving General Assistance unless an exemption has been granted.
