An initial audit of necessary protective equipment at each institution was conducted which showed most have an adequate supply to immediately address any potential COVID-19 exposures. We will be actively assessing supply and demand and ensuring that the institutions have the resources they need to protect staff and inmates. The workgroup will continue to collaborate and maintain open lines of communication with the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to identify any deficiencies and ensure adequate supplies are available at each institution. Federal and state public health departments stress that masks and other personal protective equipment are only recommended for those working in a health care setting or who are displaying symptoms. If your daily duties do not regularly require you to wear a mask, you do not need to wear one.
